The mission of La Relève du Haut-Saint-François is to participate in improving the living environment of families in Haut-Saint-François, by promoting the development of the individuals who make it up, their involvement and their roots in the community.
About Us
But, how do we do all of this? By having an extraordinary team serving families in our community. Always attentive to the families of Haut-Saint-François, we try to offer them services adapted to their needs, to defend the place of families in political decisions and to be a mobilizing force within our community to develop better living conditions for our families.
Our team
The strength of our board of directors is the commitment of the members that comprise it. They reflect the needs of the community and have a great desire to create innovative and inspiring projects.
Conseil Administration
The board of directors is basically the guardian of the organization. Sometimes they are the guardians of finances, sometimes guardians of the mission and democracy, but above all else, they are determined that the organization runs accordingly.

Our history
Comité de la Relève de Scotstown & la Joujouthèque
In the early '90s, three mothers got together to talk and take about their daily walks with their babies. From these meetings emerged the idea of setting up a toy lending system for Scotstown families, paying as little as possible and giving priority to reuse. In 1992, this service was incorporated as a non-profit organization under the name Comité de la Relève de Scotstown. The objectives of this committee are to ensure the smooth running of the Joujouthèque, to participate in the full development of the children and to develop solidarity and mutual aid between mothers.
Les Coccinelles
When the Town of Scotstown acquired St. Alban's Church, it rented the basement to the Comité de la Relève. This became a meeting place for children, known as Les Coccinelles. A few years later, the CLSC approached the committee to propose an extended family mandate. It then obtained a small grant to hire a facilitator.

Cultural Committee
Over the years, the Next Generation Committee has become involved at other levels, such as the Summer Entertainment Service (SAE) and culture by merging with the Cultural Committee. Having become an organization whose artistic mission took more space than the original objectives, La Relève returned more to its family vocation in 2006, with the help of Animation Famille du Haut-Saint-François.

New opportunities
In 2008, the Scotstown Succession Committee was offered the possibility of becoming a regional organization and thus meeting the eligibility criteria of the OCF of the Ministry of Families and Seniors. It was at this time that the Bambinerie (Cookshire-Eaton) and the Enfantaisie (Weedon) joined forces with the Scotstown Toy Library. Both environments were founded to meet the needs of mothers who wanted a place to meet with each other and their children. Unfortunately, Childishness did not last over time. In the fall of the same year, the organization received recurring funding from the mission. This amount allows us to hire a coordinator. In addition, La Relève has a head office in Scotstown.

Partnerships
In 2009, La Relève took charge of the PACE program for the Haut-Saint-François territory. The organization then works more with vulnerable children and families. In addition, in 2010, La Relève entered into an agreement with the Collective Kitchens to host parenting skills workshops (Mijotons en famille), in order to meet the program's criteria. In 2011, the members of the board saw an opportunity to set up a new project with the Avenir d'Enfants fund. La Voix des parents is getting underway, a series of meetings between parents in the community aimed at establishing a portrait of the particularities and needs of families in Haut-Saint-François. Following this project, La Relève became a member of the Haut-Saint-François Fou de ses enfants group.

La Relève partners with various regional organizations to be able to offer workshops for parents. With the agreement of the partners, the organization was formed to offer in-house workshops geared specifically to its environment.

Governance
In 2010, the CA began procedures to improve its governance. In 2010, the Board initiated a reflection on the mission and orientations of the organization. It is at this moment that he acquires theassignment as we know it today. It was in 2011 that the Scotstown La Relève Committee became La Relève du Haut-Saint-François.

Geographic location
In 2013, the board made the decision to move the organization's headquarters to Cookshire-Eaton. Currently, rather than considering having a single living environment, La Relève coordinates its activities from the head office and travels to municipalities that express their desire or need for specific workshops. This deployment is also in keeping with the history of the organization since great concern seems to have been given to the possibility of reaching families where they were.

La Relève continues to evolve along with the needs of the Haut-Saint-François community, remaining creative and open, and will do so for a very long time to come.
